Kiomatia Blueberry Farm

We are located about 17 miles north of Detroit Texas, about 27 miles northeast of Paris, TX, or about 30 miles northwest of Clarksville, Texas and we are in the northwest quadrant of Red River County Texas.

We provide buckets for customer picking. Customers should bring their own take-home containers or bags. We charge by the pound and our price in 2017 was $3.00 per pound. We have never used pesticides and we have never used herbicides not organically approved. We recommend that customers do not wear footwear such as boots, athletic shoes, or walking shoes which fully protect the feet and we do not shoes such as sandals.

We are entering the 15th year as a "pick your own" blueberry operation in Red River County TX. Our farm is situated farther north than any other growers in Northeast Texas which allow our bushes to receive the winter chilling hours required to produce budding for the blooms of the NHB variety. As near as we know, all other growers who are all to the south of our farm, offer rabbiteye blueberry varieties because of the lack of the chilling hours required to grow the NHB variety. Our customers were found to prefer the month earlier ripening NHB variety over the rabbiteye variety which we used to grow. They also prefer the taste and the lack of seeds in our Northern Highbush Blueberries.
